John Beasley is a large and popular county park on Okaloosa Island in Florida, between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. This quiet beachside park hosts more than 100 weddings annually. It has some of the most amazing views where you can catch some of the most breathtaking sunsets or the beauty of Okaloosa Island’s snow-white sandy beaches. This casual and family-friendly beach is the perfect setting for beach weddings, engagements, or wedding shoots. The early summer and fall months are the most popular time for weddings at the park.
It is among one the top wedding venues in Fort Walton Beach. Its significant features include its ample free parking space which can accommodate 208 vehicles (although they do not allow RVs). It also has two pavilions, two dune walkovers, public restrooms, changing rooms, picnic tables, and a Life Guard.
It is a handicap-accessible venue and one of the few places on the Emerald Coast where wheelchair users can access the beach without encountering steps. And it is also easy to find for your out-of-town guests if you’re thinking about having a destination wedding. Not to mention, there are a lot of fun activities nearby, such as fresh seafood dining and diverse shopping options.
The West Pavilion can be booked for private events through the country parks department at an affordable fee. The East Pavilion is a public-access beach and is only accessible on a first-come-first-serve basis. Both pavilions are approximately 45 square feet, with eight picnic tables, an electrical outlet, and garbage cans. The West Pavilion can only be booked for a maximum of two hours, which is just enough time for a beach wedding ceremony. The recommended maximum guest list is 60; it cannot be booked for special events on major holidays.
